Tell us a story about your mother that would characterize her or show us what kind of a woman she was.

"As a small child I recall she worked as a cashier at the local grocery store(making pennies I'm sure) then I would see her come home and work even harder to make sure her four children had the things they needed." - Syna Reddick-Smiley

What was the most valuable lesson you learned from your mother?

"Life has many expected and unexpected circumstances! To dance in the face of adversity and in joy is the greatest lesson my mother could have taught me! I've seen my mother weep in anguish as well as delight over her children. A lesson in faith can carry immeasurable happiness or pain but her love and emotional journey has always been rooted in her faith. I'm so thankful for my mother and the strength she carries within."  - Syna Reddick-Smiley

Tell us a story about your mother that would characterize her or show us what kind of a woman she was?

"My mom is a strong willed, articulate, determined, positive, resourceful woman who does not let adversity get in the way of getting a job done or getting a head..As a single mother since I was born, she made sure my needs were met above and beyond hers or anyone else's.She worked a full time job in a career, but time managed her life to coincide with my school and activities. She always encouraged me to be myself, and try new things, and to pursue the interests I loved. Consequ ently I won first place in a student art show for building a 5 foot worker roller coaster out of Kinnex when I was 11. " - Joshua Ryan Clark

What were your fears about becoming a mother?
"No fears. I am naturally nurturing, and caring and loving. I knew I'd be a good mom. There is no formula, you just have to know your child."
- Joshua Ryan Clark
